AUGUST 2024 CHLORINE PRODUCTION
In August, the European chlorine production reached 672,768 tonnes. With 21,702 tonnes, the August 2024 average daily production was 3.7% lower than in the previous month (July 2024: 22,538 tonnes) but 7.7% higher than in August 2023 (20,145 tonnes).
With 215,560 tonnes, the August 2024 caustic soda stocks were 7.8% lower than in the previous month (July 2024: 233,695 tonnes) and 25,676 tonnes below the level of August 2023 (241,236 tonnes).
The following tables give the details of chlorine production and caustic soda stocks in the EU-27 countries plus Norway, Switzerland, and the UK in August 2024.
