In January, the European chlorine production reached 819,455 tonnes. With 26,434 tonnes, the January average daily production was 4.6% higher than in the previous month (December 2012: 25,277 tonnes), but 3.6% lower than in January 2012 (27,410 tonnes).

The January caustic soda stocks stood at 228,007 tonnes, i.e. 5.6% below the previous month (December 2012: 241,462 tonnes) and 22,401 tonnes below the level of January 2012 (250,408 tonnes).
